If you email us
We use your email address and whatever you tell us to deal with your message. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, which here means answering the people who write to us. Our email provider handles the message on our behalf.
We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your message and delete them within 12 months, unless we have to keep one for longer for legal reasons.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical details such as your IP address so it can deliver pages and keep the service secure. We don’t combine that with anything that identifies you.
Cloudflare may process information outside the UK. It states that it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, and its data processing terms include the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
The location button
The home page has a button that finds the region nearest to you. If you press it, your browser asks your permission and then works out the answer on your own device. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it isn’t stored.
Links to booking sites
When you follow a link to a booking site, you leave this site. The booking site, and any affiliate network it uses, handles your information under its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies.
We never receive your name, your payment details or your booking. If you book after following an affiliate link, the network tells us that a booking was made and what commission is due. It doesn’t tell us who you are. How we make money explains which links are affiliate links.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it, object to our using it, and ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere. Email us and we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first and we’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

If the way the site works changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
